"Chimpers, launched on May 20, 2022, is a popular PFP NFT collection created by prominent collectors and pixel artist Timpers. The idea behind the project began in July 2021, and has since developed into a Web3 adventure story filled with art, lore, and metaverse/community initiatives.
Although Chimpers was originally heralded as a unique mix between pixel-art leaning PFPs, like CryptoPunks and primate-themed collections like BAYC, the project has since grown into a vast ecosystem of animation, gaming, literature, and more. “The journey begins with the founder @Timpers. Timpers is a fellow BAYC supporter and has been with their community very early on! He wanted to do something creative with them, so together with a handful of other Apes, he invited them onto a journey. A journey called “The Quest for the Diamond Fleece”.
So, he paired up with this twin-brother @Chimpsight to write a story about these Apes.

THE CHIMPERS WERE MYSTERIOUSLY BORN THROUGH SCIENTIFIC EXPERIMENTS THAT WENT UNNOTICED BY THE REST OF THE POPULACE… THE APES TOILED WITH THE HUMANS FOR CONTROL FOR DECADES, BUT EVENTUALLY, THEY WERE ABLE TO RECLAIM THEIR LAND AND PUSH THE HUMANS OUT FOREVER. BUT BEFORE THEY WERE VANQUISHED, THE HUMANS HAD TO DISCARD THE EVIDENCE OF WHAT THEY CREATED. THEY FIRED THE CHIMPERS DNA INTO THE VOIDS OF SPACE, HOPING THAT THEIR CREATION WOULD NEVER SEE THE LIGHT OF DAY.
HOWEVER, DESTINY WOULD NOT ALLOW IT. CENTURIES PASSED AND NEW WORLDS FORGED. THE CHIMPERS EXTENDED ACROSS THE GALAXIES, SPECIES WERE FORMED, AND A NEW AGE BEGAN.

On the 16th July 2021, Timpers minted 100 editions of TBAC
Episode 1
Episode 1: The Ape Wakening, The Quest for the Diamond Fleece. An artwork that reflects the happenings of what happened in Chapter 1 of the ebook. These 100 editions were sold for 0.25e.
Chapter 2
On the 4th of August 2021, Timpers minted 100 editions of TBAC Episode 2: Ape FURMO, The Quest for the Diamond Fleece. Again, sold for 0.25e. This cover art depicts chapter 2.
Episode 3
On the 20th of August 2021, Timpers minted 100 editions of TBAC Episode 3: RejuvenAPE, The Quest for the Diamond Fleece. Sold for 0.25e each. Episode 3 depicts Chapter 3.
Episode 4
On the 28th September 2021, Timpers minted 100 editions of TBAC Episode 4: APEmegaddon, The Quest for the Diamond Fleece. Sold for 0.25e each, and the episode depicts Chapter 4.
84 were airdropped for free to those that held Episodes 1 through 5.
16 were not airdropped and sold to the public for 0.25e
Holding the full collection of Episodes 1 through 6 is known as acquiring a ‘fullset’ which is the Holy Grail.
The Diamond Fleece:
On the 2nd of January 2022, there were 83 fullset holders, and they were each airdropped what the story had been building towards: A Diamond Fleece. -17 were reserved by the team.
Diamond Fleece
On 28th January 2022, a Medium article was released, explaining that: The Chimpers genesis 100 serves as the foundations for a larger generative Chimpers project later in the year. There will be utility and exciting plans added to the genesis Chimpers so be ready!
On 30th January 2022, the team burnt 1 of the Diamond fleeces to reveal the very first Genesis Chimp. This first Genesis was then auctioned off for 30E. The team continued to burn 1 diamond fleece a week and publicly auction them.
On 3rd February 2022, the first Diamond fleece held by an owner was burnt and the second Genesis Chimp was born. Many other genesis chimps were born along the way — you can see them here.
When a diamond fleece is burned, not only did the owner get a Genesis, but they also got a mysterious Diamond Dust. No one knows what it does.

Timpers teamed up with animation director and designer Jardine Sage to create a short skit known as “Animated Production: The Quest for the Diamond Fleece” which brings the apes to life in an epic adventure featuring all 6 artworks, animation, unique SFX and music. On the 17th February 2021, 100 were minted and reserved for fullset holders for 0.5e. After they claimed, the rest were offered to the public for 0.5e.

On 11th March 2022, a Medium article regarding an ebook was released. The story, written by Insight, was made into an NFT. On the last page of the ebook, a missing page teased upcoming important details about Chimpers.

On 18th March 2022, a Twitter post revealed that the missing page was retrieved, but was smothered in banana juice and grease.
On 29th March 2022, the team recruited a bunch of Apes to work in a LAB on the missing page to decipher it. They revealed that holding the series 1 assets granted a pass to mint a chimpers. By 26th April, the page had been fully deciphered.

STAKING DETAILS The DOJO is Chimpers staking hub and the ONLY pathway to mystery, surprise, and reward! Once you stake your Chimpers NFTs, you will begin to earn daily XP and in future you will be able to earn and win additional XP in daily battles, adventures, and quests. Accruing XP will enable you to level up your bandana grade and more.
The DOJO is comprised of three distinct activities:
· Training
· Battling
· Adventuring
Participating in the activities is automatic, you will not have to do anything except stake your Chimpers and observe your performance.
During the DOJO activities you will receive and win XP that allows you to level up and earn Bandanas.
XP and Bandanas earned will display on your staked chimpers profile in the DOJO and your current Bandana level will show in the metadata.
Staking Rewards
The sole use of XP is to level up your Chimpers bandana grade. There is no USD value to XP and no liquidity pool will be provided.

Phase 1 — Training
Dojo
To take part in battling, adventures, and quests Chimpers must be physically and mentally prepared and this state can only be achieved by those who commit their mind and body and train in the DOJO under the guidance of Master Chimpo.
Inside Of Dojo
On entering the DOJO, Master Chimpo will present you with your white training bandana. Each day Master Chimpo will award staked Chimpers with XP as follows:
• Generative — 1XP per day
• Legendary — 2XP per day
• Genesis — 3XP per day
Phase 2 — Battling
In the battles your Chimpers will be matched with a random Chimpers in a blow-by-blow encounter until one is declared the victor by Master Chimpo. As well as pride and XP, rewards will be up for grabs for the toughest Chimpers.
Phase 3 — Adventuring
By training and battling your Chimpers they will become stronger and more experienced, and they will be ready to venture outside the DOJO. Chimpers are hunter gatherers and adventurous souls by nature, and this is where the real mystery, surprise and reward begins!

“Hey chimp, I’m Timpers! In 2014 I ventured into graphic design using photoshop to create designs for social media. As I learned more, I started a YouTube channel and over the next four years I created hundreds of tutorials on how to use photoshop whilst building a large community of 40,000 subscribers! during my time at University I was exposed to many different styles of art and animation, but out of everything I connected the most with pixel art. I grew up playing Pokémon and my main source of inspiration derives from retro pixel-based games and anime films. at its most basic level, pixel art is simple and accessible, but it also has huge depth and many variations, I am forever learning.
When I found out about the NFT world, it wasn’t long before I began forming new connections. I sold my first 1/1 in February 2021 on foundation and from there everything changed. I have since worked with RTFKT, Kolectiv, interleave, and had my artwork featured in the BAYC x rolling stone zine, as well as working as one of the artists on the iconic Nouns DAO project.
